Jaiden 4.0

My boo will be 4 in less than 7 days.  And the hubs has shut down Extravaganza Barbie.  This really needs to be an epic event... no, not that he's turning 4- which is epic without me announcing that it's epic.  But that he's not getting an extravaganza!  WTH!

Oh, my hubs is trying to mold me into a non glitter queen.  But it won't happen!  I'm fighting the feeling!!!!  A party will be had! Somewhere... >:-)

For the Love of Ice Cream

Brewster's has quite possibly the best ice cream. And what's even better is that they offer a free kiddie cone to parents when they bring their children.

I love to bring Jaiden there- as he's developed his mother's horrible sweet tooth! Everytime I go, I get a single scoop on a sugar cone of mint chocolate chip and get Jaiden the kiddie cone with birthday cake ice cream. He loves to wolf down his ice cream then "share" my cone... sometimes- he's even nice enough to give it back. :-/

Anyway... Jai's 4th birthday (I can't believe it) will be in a couple of weeks. Now, extravaganza girl, (that would be me) has been totally slacking on the whole party planning mode. For starters, I can't figure out how to dumb down this dinosaur theme I'm supposed to be working with- because that's what Jaiden is TOTALLY into right now. AND to top it off, we are supposed to be going out of town.

I'm thinking I may do the daycare center birthday party. That way, I just have entertainment to do. I don't think anyone knows how hard an easy birthday party is for me! INSANE!!! I should go retrograde and post pictures from Jaiden's first and third birthday parties- both of which included major set up like I was doing one of my client parties....

At least if I have it at the daycare, I've also eliminated the need for clean up. So, I guess daycare party it is...

Wow... if only I had written sooner...

Life with Jaiden... and CHANDLER!!!

Since it's only been 3 short years since I've written anything... things have happened. First, we moved out of our condo and bought a house. Then we decided we need to fill it... with people.

Chandler Elijah Gayles arrived into our little world on March 12, 2011. Jaiden couldn't be happier with being a new brother! He's so incredibly sweet and loving... until he decides that the crying has got to stop. Then he wants to talk to Chandler man to man... basically telling him, "What are you crying for? You want your mommy? SHE'S RIGHT HERE!!!!" And then there is the classic: "Chandler, you know you're not supposed to pee on yourself. That's just discussing" No, that's not a typo. He thinks it is discussing over disgusting!

Well, I'm in the midst of starting yet- another blog. Why, when clearly I am no good at the 3 that I have? Because these things are free and I feel like I need more space on the innanets (as my husband says). Plus, I feel that I can contribute something a little bigger and bolder on a brand new shining blog. With a cool new name. And different things to write about.

Make no doubt about it. These two little boogers I have are growing up fast as HELL. I mean, seriously people. I took a look at this blog that I could last keep up with when Jaiden was 3 months... then a year... and now he's about to be 4 and we've added another 3 month old to the mix.

Life is good!

Jaiden's First Birthday Party

By trade, I am an event planner. It comes within the marketing territory. I've planned events for John Legend, Lionel Richie, fiduciary brunches with Coretta Scott King and Andrew Young, promo tours with Jill Scott and Eryka Badu. It's all a breeze...

... that until you add a pool and a bunch of children under one...

I am in the process of planning Jaiden's most important birthday party which is taking place on July 5, 2008. This- by far is the hardest event that I've ever planned.

Why(?) might you ask??? Well, for starters, when you are used to planning huge events, it get's really hard not to make everything you do a production! I can't figure out where to put the DJ when I realize I don't need one! I can't figure out who is going to butler pass the appetizers- when I realize kids eat peanut butter and jelly- but I can't serve that because some children are allergic! Oh the horror of it all. Thousands upon thousands I have entertained and 12 children are making me quiver in my boots.

I've prioritized my list with a simple trip to party city last month. I wanted my baby shower to be a Baby-Q; but I now realize that it is a more appropriate 1st birthday theme. I saw some plastic buckets on sale for $1 each, so I figured that would be extra fun for the wee ones!

Next, I am getting a kiddie pool, some food for the adults, a couple of cute pool toys, and some other tchoskies to complete the event. I'm trying my hardest to "dumb it down" or K.I.S.S. (keep it simple, sweatheart). In two hours, we will be in and out! Hopefully...

Well, I keep you posted and post pictures when I am not at work. I could do it now; but Ne-Yo's camp is on the other line. Maybe my sandbuckets will work for his event...

So I Concede!

I am no good at blogging! I wanted to have a diary of my son's life and here is is 5 months later and no new posts!

Jaiden is a wonderfully, beautiful, happy baby in a highly fashionable manor. He's growing up to be quite a handsome little boy. I miss him everyday while I am at work- which is what is eating up most of my blog time!
Well, let me get some pictures up here before he turns 25.

Jaiden's first little christmas picture with us. We were all laughing at the girl with the dog behind the camera! By the way, Jaiden enjoyed all of the boxes at Christmas. The toys, with all their light up, hit here/push there drama wasn't as interesting! I am going to create christmas boxes for Children worldwide and make MILLIONS!

Jaiden getting his groove on!

"I have a strange feeling that someone is watching me..." Jaiden getting his UT game day on...
So, my new New Year's resolution is to get better at this whole blogging thing.
You will see more in the future
Smooches!

Jaiden is 1'11" tall...

Or at least that's what the paper from his doctor's office says. He's so big now, that he can hardly fit the bassinet anymore. He's also officially moved out of his newborn closes and fits 3-6 months only (not even his 3 month outfits fit anymore)... such is life! Our little boy is growing up!

In other news, Jaiden and Nichi are now best friends. What started out to be a VERY rocky relationship has now evened out to a loving baby/dog friendship. Nichi gets extremely excited when I come in the door with Jaiden. It's no longer about me! He wants to see the baby, too! And don't let Jaiden start crying for any extended period of time... Nichi will come get me to see what's wrong.

In fact, Jaiden went to his playmates' house today and the dog didn't even say hi to me when I came in the door. He was looking for the carrier. Oh well...

Jaiden's first day at work

So... we went to see some daycare centers this week. And it became quite apparent to us IMMEDIATELY. Jaiden needs a job.

To get him used to the working world, we stopped by request, by Dad's office to see all of the nice people there. On top of that, I figured that this is the perfect job for him since he likes to be up all night and Daddy works all night. Plus, Daddy has toys in his cubical (top right corner). Perfect fit!

We started with computers. Dad gave Jaiden some easy things to start with. Like the login screen. That's always a winner!

Before long (about 10 minutes), Jaiden had decided he was sick of this CRAP!

So, Dad being the nice guy he is, let him go to sleep.

We are still working on it. We think he'll be ready by 4 months...
